Less than 24 hours after wrapping Season 2 of Stranger Things, the young stars of the hit Netflix series took to Beverly Hills for a nearly hour-long live Q&A. The event, part of Netflix’s ‘For Your Consideration’ Emmy screenings, also featured executive producer Shawn Levy, creators Ross and Matt Duffer, and actor David Harbour who portrays Chief Jim Hopper on the show. Attendees were treated to behind-the-scenes stories from young actors Millie Bobby Brown, Caleb McLaughlin, Gaten Matarazzo, Finn Wolfhard, and Noah Schnapp.
Among the revelations about Season 2, the Duffer brothers claim the new episodes are “more dense” carrying “more story, more scenes, more visual components, and new characters.” They are also close to hitting a record for scene counts per episode, making the shooting “a brutal process.”
Where Season 1 takes place during Christmas of 1983, the new season is set during Halloween of 1984 , which the Duffer Brothers note was an amazing year for movies, citing Indiana Jones and The Temple of Doom, Ghostbusters, The Terminator, and Gremlins as influences and obsessions of the boys on the show.
